Duties 
Reporting to the Beausejour Blades Jr A. hockey team executive, 
the Sales & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating events, 
activities and promotional strategies that recruit and retain
Beausejour Blades spectators.  The Sales & Marketing Coordinator will be 
responsible for securing sponsorship and planning, promoting and 
implementing fundraising events.  The Sales & Marketing Coordinator 
will need to develop and nurture positive community relationships to 
promote a strong community presence.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·  Develop, implement and evaluate Sales and Marketing plan.
·  Actively seek sponsorship 
·  Develop and nurture positive community relationships
·  You will have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated individuals 
to bring this community team to advance to the play offs and 
win the RBC cup!
 
Qualifications 
·  Post secondary level education from a recognized academic 
institution and/or a degree in Business Administration, 
Public Relations or Commerce 
preferred.  
·  Minimum of two years experience in sales, community development, 
and/or event management preferred.  
·  Effective communication and interpersonal skills.  
·  Proven sales skills with ability to attract and sell potential 
sponsorship partners.  
·  Ability to develop and maintain professional working 
relationships with staff, 
partners, players and general public.  
·  Strong organizational and time management skills.  
·  Motivation to succeed, ability to work independently 
and deliver results.

Blades Add Assistant Coach

The Beausejour Blades announced today that Troy Kennedy has been hired an as assistant coach.

Kennedy returns to the Blades organization, as he was the Southeast Blades head coach during the 2003-04 season. He has coached bantam hockey in Beausejour for the past two seasons and has played senior hockey for the Beausejour Beavers.

Kennedy played pro hockey for 11 seasons in Britain and the United States. He also played five seasons in the WHL with Winnipeg, Moose Jaw, Kamloops and Brandon.

 

Kings Move Stokes to Beausejour

The Dauphin Kings have traded defenceman Ryan Stokes, the MJHL list rights of 18-year-old forward Derek Nieroda and future considerations to the Beausejour Blades for the MJHL list rights of 17-year-old forward Mark Owen and the MJHL list rights of 20-year-old forward Dustin Clegg.

Stokes, 20, split last season between Dauphin and the Neepawa Natives. He tallied five assists and 99 penalty minutes in 47 games.

Nieroda tallied 25 goals and 33 assists for 58 points in 21 games with the St. Paul's Crusaders in the Winnipeg High School Hockey League.

Clegg is currently with the Flin Flon Bombers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. He had 30 goals and 21 assists for 51 points in 53 games last season with the Bombers.

Owen netted 22 goals and 14 assists for 36 points in 40 games with the AAA midget Pembina Valley Hawks a year ago.

During the MJHL Bantam Draft, Sunday June 1, the Beausejour Blades selected six players born in 1993.

The six  players chosen in this year's draft were:

5th Round, 45th Overall

Blades Aquire Cornforth

May 23, 2008

The Neepawa Natives have traded defenceman Ryan Cornforth to the Beausejour Blades for the MJHL list rights of 17-year-old forward Mitchell O'Brien and future considerations.

Cornforth, 20, scored six goals and 14 assists for 20 points in 60 games last season as the leader on the blue-line for Neepawa.

O'Brien tallied three goals and six assists for nine points in 36 games last season with the Pembina Valley Hawks of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League.

It was announced today that Beausejour has dealt forward Eli Halcrow and the MJHL list rights of forward Tyler Bertholet to Neepawa for 20-year-old forwards Karl Kelner, Michael Bunting and Dylan Lawrence.


Blades Announce Scholarship

The Beausejour Blades have announced the graduating defenceman Kevin Richardson has committed to Nichols College for next season.

Richardson, 20, scored three goals and 11 points in 61 games for the Blades last season, while racking up 100 penalty minutes.

He began his MJHL career with the Winkler Flyers.

The Nichols College Bison play in the NCAA Division III ECAC Northeast Hockey conference.

The Blades wish Kevin all the best at Nichols.
